Hosted by AmericanTrails.org Recreation planners sponsor annual awards program Deadline for nominations: April 11, 2007 Arlington, VA, January 31, 2006 - The National Association of Recreation Resource Planners (NARRP) has opened nominations for its annual awards program. The deadline for submitting nominations is April 11, using a form available in the conference section of the NARRP website. The association presents awards in three categories: 1. The National Recreation Resource Leadership Award is the association's most prestigious award, presented to one individual who has demonstrated leadership and has made significant contributions to recreation resource management. 2. Distinguished Service Awards are presented to as many as three individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession of recreation resource planning. 3. Excellence in Recreation Resource Planning Awards are presented to up to four recipients for professional achievement in the field of parks and recreation planning, contributing to the advancement of the profession of park and recreation programs. NARRP is a nationwide organization comprised of outdoor recreation professionals and others interested in recreation resource planning. The association is a forum for exchanging recreation planning and related information, promoting the professional growth of individuals involved in recreation planning and developing positions on recreation planning concerns. The conference theme is "Creating Planning Connections: Linking Trails, Rivers, Byways, and Greenways." As with all NARRP conferences, the speakers, panels, and field workshops will focus on helping the association's members meet and learn from other parks and recreation planners from across the country. NARRP is a nationwide organization comprised of outdoor recreation professionals and others interested in recreation resource planning.
