Hosted by AmericanTrails. org Nez Perce National Forest in ID seeks trail crew workers The Nez Perce National Forest is hiring a trail crew leader and trail crew laborers for the 2009 summer field season. Duty station is Grangeville, ID on the Clearwater and Salmon River Ranger Districts. Trail crew will begin in April/ May and work through September. The trail crew will maintain trails for hikers, bikers, horseback riders, ATV enthusiasts, and motorcycles. Work may include clearing fallen trees, cutting brush, cutting sidehill trail tread, building turnpikes, installing waterbars, building rock walls, repairing bridges, and installing signs. Work will require the use of such tools as pick mattocks, shovels, wheel barrows, winches, chainsaws, brush cutters, rock drills, and ATVs. Projects are reached via 4 X 4 truck, foot travel, horse, and ATV. Packing horses and mules, backpacking, and camping for up to 10 days at a time will be required.
