Love to hike? Dream of working on the Appalachian Trail in Maine? Apply for summer trail crew internships today and build high standard trail skills.

Trail Internships
Join the Trail Crew Staff and volunteers on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in the mountains of Maine. Projects include building stone steps, waterbars and retaining walls. Work is located along 267 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Many projects are reached by backpacking to the site. Activities focus on teamwork and learning opportunities. On the job training with stone work, Griphoist rigging systems and other trail work will be presented by an experienced trail pioneer. Instruction with first aid and leadership techniques will be provided. Sorry, no pets are allowed.

Qualifications:
some trail work experience
Ability to teach trail skills with training
Good health and physical fitness
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Sense of humor
Ability to maintain a safe work environment under challenging conditions
Ability to motivate and work with people of all ages and backgrounds

Stipend $200.00 per week plus housing and meals provided (valued at $150 per week)

Dates: May 20 – August 26, 2017. Work includes weekends.
