Located in Kanopolis State Park the area is 33 miles southwest of Salina and 25 miles southeast of Ellsworth via Highway K-140 just off K 141.
Observe native plants (yucca), wildlife, Indian history and geology of the canyons on this trail which follows Bison Creek. The Dakota sandstone is weathered into natural sculptures, and there are several caves in the area.

The Buffalo Track Canyon Nature Trail is an amazing place. This short trail takes you through semi-arid terrain, then trough spots with tropical plants, caves, creeks, petroglyphs and hill tops with amazing views. The experience changes with the changing seasons. This nature trail is rich with history and wildlife viewing opportunities.
