Starts at Pine Trailhead (Hwy 87). From City of Mesa, drive north for 78 miles to Payson. Then north again for 18 miles to just south of Pine. Ends at 260 Trailhead (Hwy 260. Drive on 260 out of Payson for 24 miles (near mile post 279) to trail turnoff.


Steep, rocky terrain along the Mogollon Rim with spectacular views, canyons, brushy hills. Established in 1870, Zane Grey used the trail while hunting in the area. Travel route between homesteads, schools.
