GETTING AROUND AUSTIN

The Austin 'Dillo (Capitol Metro Downtown Shuttle) While walking around Austin is a delightful way to go, the easy alternative is the downtown trolley, known as the 'Dillo (as in armadillo). It stops close to both hotels and most of the downtown tourist spots, as well as providing commuter service in the area. The 'Dillo from the Hyatt takes you across the bridge, where you transfer to another to go to the Austin Convention Center. Shuttles run every 5-10 minutes. Best of all, it's free. All 'Dillos are wheelchair accessible. These reproductions of trolley cars will take you to, from, and through downtown Austin, the Capitol Complex, University of Texas campus, Austin High School Park & Ride lot, and from the free Park & Ride lot at Bouldin and Barton Springs. Visit www.capmetro.org for routes and schedules.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION

The City of Austin's Capitol Metro Transportation Authority's system is 100% accessible. All buses and 'Dillos are wheelchair accessible. In addition, if an individual with a disability needs to use special transit, please call 512-389-7480 three weeks in advance of the Symposium to apply for and get registered for this service.
