Multi-Use Path Project Manager/Designer

Loris and Associates is a civil and structural engineering company in Lafayette, Colorado (just outside of Boulder) that specializes in alternative modes of transportation. Nearly two-thirds of our workload is in alternative transportation including trails, underpasses, and pedestrian bridges. We take pride in our ability to develop creative designs in challenging locations that are environmentally sensitive and aesthetically pleasing. To bolster our capabilities and to help us grow our niche regionally, we are looking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented project manager, project engineer, or landscape architect or designer who fits with our culture, is inspired by performing quality work, and wants to create sustainable infrastructure. Job Summary

• Project Manager/Designer for path and trail projects. Will also have opportunities to work on street (traffic calming, streetscape and intersection) and bridge (pedestrian and vehicular) projects.
• Design responsibilities – design of plan and profile, cross sections, construction phasing, grading, drainage, hydraulics, right-of-way, utilities, bridges, retaining walls, and cost estimates. Our projects require a significant amount of coordination between (and understanding of) these various disciplines. The best solution melds these factors into design options that fit seamlessly into its surroundings while optimizing the user’s experience.
• Manage client relationships, design process, and budgets.

Optimum Qualifications

• Four years minimum experience designing path/trail, street and/or bridge projects according to local, CDOT, and AASHTO standards.
• Experience in grading, drainage, utility and/or structural design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2007, InRoads, and MS Word and Excel. If you don’t have proficiency in the design software, we can provide the training, but you must be willing to put in the effort to expand your capabilities.
• Professional registration beneficial, but not required.

• Commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Relocation allowance
