1. Assistant New England Trail Crew Leader

This position entails acting a assistant leader to a small crew on a variety of trail construction and reconstruction projects throughout New England.

Responsibilities:

¬ Act as Assistant Leader to a crew of 4-6 professional trail workers and occasional volunteers on trail projects throughout New England.

¬ Maintain tradition of high quality trail work, representing the AMC trails program

¬ Report to and communicate regularly with White Mountain Trails Programs Trails Supervisor when the Crew Leader is absent

¬ Assist Crew Leader in managing crew and project logistics in an organized, flexible, and creative fashion.

¬ Assist in documenting work completed and crew hours

¬ Assist Crew leader in maintaining and enforcing safety standards at all times

Required skills
- ability to perform the duties of a trail worker
- strong leadership skills
- ability to manage logistics and problem solve without direct supervision
- strong, professional communication skills
- self motivated
- ability to follow instruction without close supervision
- knowledge of hand tool use and care
- valid drivers license

Desired Skills
- Certified Class B Sawyer
- Knowledge of overhead rigging systems and griphoist safety
- First Aid and CPR

2. Blue Hills Assistant Trail Crew Leader

This position would be based out of Blue Hills Reservation, Milton, MA. It entails acting a assistant leader to a small crew on a variety of trail maintenance and reconstruction projects throughout the 125 miles of trails on the Blue Hills Reservation.

Responsibilities:

¬ Act as Assistant Leader to a crew of up to 4 professional trail workers and occasional volunteers on trail projects throughout the Blue Hills

¬ Act as AMC representative and liaison, in close communication with the Department of Conservation and Recreation representative when the Crew Leader is absent

¬ Maintain tradition of high quality trail work, representing the AMC trails program

¬ Report to and communicate regularly with White Mountain Trails Programs Trails Supervisor when the Crew Leader is absent

¬ Assist Crew Leader in managing crew and project logistics in an organized, flexible, and creative fashion.

¬ Assist in documenting work completed and crew hours

¬ Assist Crew leader in maintaining and enforcing safety standards at all times
