Organization Overview:
The Wellness Coalition is a regional non profit that seeks to promote the vitality of the people and communities in southwestern New Mexico. Our Youth Corps consists of a Health Corps, and Conservation Corps - promoting accountability, dedication, conservation and excellence in our Corps members whether they are building trail in the Gila, working as conservation education coordinators, or serving as peer mentors in local high schools.
Position Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18-25 years old. Trail work or related experience is desirable. Previous conservation corps experience is desirable.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide for individual and crew safety.
Must be willing to learn.
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
Must be able to work in the heat, cold and other adverse conditions.
Must have the ability to hike long distances carrying a full pack and tools.
Must be able to work a schedule of 8 ten-hour days in the field, followed by 6 days off.
Implement the policies and procedures put in place by the Wellness Coalition Conservation Corps.
Dates of Employment:
March 29, 2010 – July 26, 2010

Compensation:
This is a full time position at $8.50/hour. AmeriCorps education awards are given after a successful completion of your term.
