About Trips for Kids
Trips for Kids (TFK) is an international non-profit organization that takes underserved youth on mountain bike adventures, teaching them personal responsibility, achievement and environmental awareness. For information about our program, visit the Trips for Kids website at www.tripsforkids.org
Trips for Kids has operated in Marin County, California for the past twenty two years. In 1999, the international program was developed, and there are now 66 chapters in the United States, Canada and one in Israel. We are looking for an experienced executive level individual with passion, creativity, and a commitment to our mission to take the International Program to the next level.
Primary Responsibilities
* Significantly increase the number of chapters in the US and overseas
* Support the growth of and provide resources to improve existing chapters
* Expand the Board of Directors to include prominent individuals from across the nation committed to and versed in aspects of the mission
* Increase grants and donations significantly from high-profile funders beyond the bicycling industry
* Develop a broad-based marketing and public relations plan to raise the awareness of the existence of Trips for Kids
* Develop stronger ties with national and international bicycling and recreational industries
* Form critical alliances with other national youth organizations
* Encourage the growth of new chapters
* Manage the day to day operation of the International Program
Qualifications
* Demonstrated strong management skills - managing people, planning and budgeting for a nonprofit or a for-profit organization
* Proven fundraising and corporate sponsorship experience
* Experience evaluating and improving processes in a dynamic organization
* Knowledge of workings of non-profit organizations
* Effective oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience with public speaking and media relations, very helpful.
* Detail oriented, conscientious, creative, and self-directed
* Education: Bachelor's degree required
* Computer skills, Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint
Compensation
Full-time salaried position; compensation commensurate with background and experience, benefits include health insurance.
