OVERVIEW OF ORGANIZATION
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) is a 28 year old nonprofit, 501 (c) 3, outdoor- recreation organization comprised of dedicated volunteers, board members, and a small paid and volunteer staff.
The 165 + mile Tahoe Rim Trail System was built in partnership with the US Forest Service and Nevada State Parks, the TRTA built the Tahoe Rim Trail by hundreds of volunteers giving thousands of hours of time.
Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, the full-time Executive Director (ED) is responsible for day to day leadership, management, and administration of TRTA programs and staff. S/he will work with the Board and the Board Committees to implement the organization's strategic plan, engage the broader community, fulfill the agenda set by the Board of Directors, develop and achieve work plans, budgets, and fundraising strategies. S/he will administer an annual $400,000+ operating budget.
The ED will lead this organization forward in meeting its immediate and near-term goals, while continuing to build a foundation to assure its long-term capacity to meet the needs of the local communities, visitors, agencies and land managers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of Bachelor Degree (BA/BS). Five or more years proven experience in nonprofit administrative or operational management, and/or related experience in business, government or environmental field. Advanced degrees in related fields may substitute for two years of experience; candidates with advanced degrees are strongly encouraged to apply. Demonstrated familiarity with program management, policy-making, fundraising, and budgeting. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
