Conservation Begins Here.
The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a National Director of Conservation Teams. This position, based in Charlestown, NH, leads the strategic development and implementation of conservation service team experiences for college and high school age youth, ensuring an increasing number and diversity of high quality conservation service opportunities for members and agency customers, and a financially sustainable model for SCA.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the Conservation Teams program (including budget development, staff supervision, new program development and implementation and program evaluation) with an emphasis on team based operations, program quality, risk assessment and management.
Develop and implement short and long-term strategies and plans to grow the number and variety of Conservation Team opportunities in a financially sustainable way in collaboration with SCA Partnership staff.
Work to assure Conservation Teams both meets their team goals and larger SCA program goals as defined by the SCA strategic and annual plans.
Ensure that all program constituents (members, host sites, funders) receive high quality customer service that improves their experience, increases their perceived value and encourages a continued relationship with SCA.
Qualifications:
8-10 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position, significant contribution to management and supervisory experience.
Bachelor’s degree plus significant additional coursework, seminars, similar activities or advanced degree highly preferred
Confident management skills including analysis, budgeting and organizational process improvement.
Strong supervisory, leadership and communication skills.
Experience in, and ability to handle and track multiple projects at one time.
Marketing and/or program development and/or management experience.
Working knowledge of MS software and proven ability to learn new software.
Willingness to travel
Demonstrated experience in leading through change.
Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standard required
Criminal background check required that meets SCA standards
Access to cell phone for business purposes required
Current Wilderness First Aid or First Responder certificate preferred.
