Trail Mix, Inc. (Juneau, Alaska) seeks Executive Director

Trail Mix, Inc. seeks an Executive Director to manage all operations of the largest nonprofit trail organization in Alaska.

Trail Mix is based in Juneau and works throughout northern Southeast Alaska. Our mission is to improve and expand the trail system of Alaska's capital city through planning, construction, maintenance, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and public education.

Under the direction of an active board of directors, the Executive Director is responsible for developing, planning and executing major trail projects, maintenance activities, and special projects, as well as and supervising up to 16 full-time seasonal trail crew workers. This position requires significant time and energy, a strong understanding of sustainable trail design and construction methods, independent judgment, excellent communication skills, grant writing, budget preparation, personnel management, knowledge of government processes, and strong computer and GIS skills.

Experience building trails in temperate rainforests, as well as experience in nonprofit administration, construction project management, and/or management of natural resources is highly desirable. A competitive benefits package will be offered, commensurate with experience.
