The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) is currently in the process of planning future tools as part of the organization's goal to "Create a Positive Future for OHV Recreation."
For this future to be as positive as we can make it, it is important that the tools we plan to develop meet your needs. Please help us to make the right planning choices by letting us know your needs.
Is there a study that has not yet been done that should be done? Is there a program or an issue that should be developed? Is there a case study of which you are aware that should be publicized? A newsletter article which would be helpful? A product that you wish existed or one that does exist that you find helpful? Is there a product, program, or study that exists but needs to be updated to be more effective?
To help activate your thinking caps, here are some of our thoughts about studies, programs, etc that could be developed:
• Additional studies regarding the physical demands (health and fitness improvements) of OHV riding
• Updated studies regarding OHV’s impact on wildlife
• A program aimed at tweens regarding safety, ethics, and responsible OHV use
• Program or better information dissemination regarding OHV use on or around working railways
• Programs regarding the use of OHVs with drugs or alcohol
• Winter OHV safety and ethics
• OHV operation around water or wetlands
• Additional trail maintenance techniques
• Listing or guide of trail maintenance products that work well in the field
• Motorized trail guidebook
• Specific training programs
Feel free to comment on our thoughts as well as adding your own. Thanks for taking the time to help us make the right tools to help you in your efforts to promote a positive future for OHV recreation.
