Both Requests for Applications are open to all interested organizations.
The Application Deadline is April 8, 2011.
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) released two Requests for Applications (RFAs) for competitive agreement opportunities related to the Recreational Trails Program (RTP). FHWA now has three trail-related RFAs available at www.grants.gov. To find these opportunities, go to www.grants.gov/search/basic.do, and Search by CFDA Number for 20.219.
The two RFAs made available today are for:
1. Off Highway Vehicle Ethics Training
2. Snowmobile Safety and Access Programs
Off Highway Vehicle Ethics Training
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) hereby requests applications from all interested organizations to result in the award of a Cooperative Agreement (Agreement) for Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Ethics Training in order to complete the following tasks:
• Develop and operate an off highway vehicle (OHV) ethics training program.
• Identify, coordinate, and enhance OHV ethics training opportunities nationwide.
• Convene and coordinate training programs and courses that focus on outdoor ethics for motorized and mechanized recreation.
• Develop and assist statewide OHV ethics training programs.

Snowmobile Safety and Access Programs
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) hereby requests applications from all interested organizations to result in the award of a Cooperative Agreement (Agreement) to support snowmobile safety and access training and product development in order to complete the following tasks:
• Operate a snowmobile safety and access resource information center.
• Identify, coordinate, and enhance snowmobile safety training opportunities nationwide.
• Identify snowmobile safety and access products needing development or revision.
• Develop and revise snowmobile safety and access programs and products in coordination with major national snowmobile user and administrator interests.
• Convene and coordinate snowmobile partner meetings and communication with Federal and State agencies and nonprofit snowmobile organizations.
